Why not? There is a pool bar near my room, where cheap food and drinks are served at happy hour. It seems fitting to claim a table overlooking the ocean and sip pina colada. I only hope I don’t get caught in the rain!
The thing about being a privileged tourist in Asia is that
there is much smiling involved. Thai people are deeply graceful, uncommonly
cheerful, and palpably gentle…but after a while, a fear my cheeks and jaw will
seize up from a surfeit of smiling and obligatory happiness!
